The GSI dryer is known as one of the most reliable and user friendly dryers around, featuring long dryer retention times which produce high quality, efficiently dried grain. Dryers are available in capacities up to 1155 bph with our Competitor Series 2000 Controls or up to 4100 bph with our patented Electronic Monitoring Control System.
The dryer offers several unique basket features. The low profile, overall height permits easy set up into existing situations. GSI dryers use 14" wide grain columns to hold the maximum amount of grain while assuring even, efficient drying from the inside to the outside of the column. Each plenum chamber also has an air mixing chamber to ensure complete mixing of the air and heat, and to shield the grain columns from direct contact with the burner flame. Multiple heat zones in two-fan dryers and larger put the hottest air on the highest moisture grain.
All GSI dryers feature advanced computerized control systems. The patented Electronic Monitoring Control System is a standard feature on all C-Series GSI
dryers, while our Series 2000 Control System is standard on our
Competitor line of single fan dryers. Both systems are easy to use and
eliminate 99% of all moving parts in the control box, such as troublesome
timers, relays, thermostats and time delays.
Moisture control is essential to a continuous flow dryer. GSI's moisture
control is the ultimate in even moisture regulation. Sensing probes
throughout the grain columns monitor temperature, thereby determining
moisture, and adjusting the grain flow as necessary utilizing a 2-speed
high-low system.
Easy access gauges and controls regulate plenum temperature, fuel flow
and dryer functions. Illuminated switches (switches with indicator lights on
the Competitor line) provide a quick reference for every operating function
of the dryer. The flexible operation gives the user a choice between
continuous flow or staged batch operation with the flip of a switch. All
dryer times and temperatures including grain and plenum temperature, batch
timers, level auger delay, out of grain timer, unload cleanout delay and
moisture control set point are easily adjustable. The computerized controls
sequentially start all dryer fan, load and unload motors and switch
positioning is monitored in all batch modes for proper placement.
Both systems eliminate guesswork by telling the operator instant
information on a backlit LCD display. The EMCS features a large 3 line by 20
character display and a memory feature that maintains a history of past
dryer operation and a permanent service record. The Electronic Monitoring
Control System also calculates total dryer time, bushels per hour and total
bushels dried.

The computerized controls are housed in an all galvanized control box that features double sealed doors and no-weld construction. All dryer operations can be viewed through UV protected safety glass. All electronics are extensively protected against electrical spikes and surges. The main safety disconnect circuit breaker is controlled with an externally mounted handle so that power can be locked out without opening the main power box. Auxiliary load and unload connections are provided as well. The GSI control box is designed to be the ultimate protection for computerized components in a rugged grain drying environment.
The simplification of dryer operation provides a safe, trouble free dryer. All GSI dryers feature a totally computerized 12 volt DC safety system capable of monitoring a comprehensive set of safety controls. Each drying chamber is equipped with temperature high limit controls and air pressure sensors. Fan housing temperature limit, vaporizer temperature limit, metering roll rotation and flame detection are monitored as well. The dryer is equipped with a rear discharge shutdown switch. On the Electronic Monitoring Control System, GSI's exclusive monitor memory allows the last 25 safety shutdowns to be recalled, along with time, date and cause of shutdown. All GSI dryers ordered for shipment to Canada are CGA certified do not require Department of Labor Special Acceptance.
The high efficiency, one-piece fan and heater unit utilizes only low speed, low noise fans, while providing optimum heated air flow for every drying application. All units use fiberglass reinforced polypropylene fans that feature an extremely low starting load, high airflow across a wide static pressure range, precise balance and quiet operation. Ten different fan configurations provide the optimum airflow required for each dryer model. An Electronic Ignition System is used to monitor burner operation. The Optimizer Blue Burn System, standard on all LP models, assures energy efficient burner operation for all fuel mixes. The easy to adjust vaporizer, large service access door and oil filled gas gauges make the GSI fan and heater unit the best on the market.
